Kirby Thanks Voters

To the editor:

Thank you, Herndon voters. Once again I get to pursue my passion by serving the people of Herndon for another two years. I want to congratulate my Town Council colleagues Dennis Husch, Bill Tirrell, Charlie Waddell and our new and very deserving Vice Mayor Connie Hutchinson.

I also want to congratulate Richard Downer who is no stranger to Herndon politics. I look forward to debating our differences and supporting our common interests in making the Town of Herndon a great place to live. There's no doubt that this council will work hard in meeting today's challenges and setting the stage for the future of our town under the proven leadership of Mayor Steve DeBenedittis.

Throughout my campaign I have said choice is what democracy is all about. Herndon voters had that choice thanks to Jim Vickery, Penny Halpern, Sheila Olem, Arthur Nachman, and Jasbinder Singh. They all demonstrated their love for our town by running for office. My hat is off to them all and I know they will continue to support and contribute to our town and stay involved in all that we do.

Last but not least, I want to thank Harlon Reece for all his many positive contributions as a councilmember and through his endless volunteerism. I look forward to his continued contributions to Herndon and I will always take his criticism, advice, wisdom and knowledge to heart.

A special thanks to my wife, Mary, for her loyal support, advice, encouragement, and for keeping me focused throughout the campaign. A big thanks to my two sons Daniel and Matthew for their help and support. You made me proud.
