Officer Brathwaite Deserves Applaud and Praise
To the editor:
Officer Warren Braithwaite, who is also known by most of us as "Coach G," is a dedicated Herndon police officer who takes seriously his job to provide a safe community. He is always trying to help the town's youths and give them positive influences. Officer Braithwaite is a hard-working officer when on duty, and a dedicated coach when off duty.
You often see Officer Braithwaite on the streets patrolling the area to keep the community safe. He actively attends area schools on career day to talk about his job. He has also been invited to area schools to talk about bullies and gangs.
Everyone knows how much time and dedication it takes to coach a team sport. Coach G coaches three different sports year round. He participates in youth sports to get to know the children in the area.
My son played basketball last winter in the Herndon Optimist Basketball League. This sport was new to my son, but Coach G's positive coaching helped my son and his teammates be better at the game and to love the sport. Police officers generally have difficult working schedules, but Coach G never missed a game or practice. His dedication to youth in the community alone deserves applaud and praise.
